Gord's Gold and Summertime Dream by Gordon Lightfoot.  I listened to these two albums growing up--they're definitely folk music, which I love.  Whenever I hear Gordon Lightfoot sing, I always get this feeling of warm, summer days.

Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.  When I was a teenager one of my favorite songs was I Am A Rock (I am an island...).  I no longer think that I have to cut myself off from others, but I still like this CD.

Life in Cartoon Motion by Mika.  Very new.  Very fun.

In My Tribe by 10,000 Maniacs.  My college roommate introduced me to this group.  At first, I didn't like them.  But for some reason, I kept listening to the CD (maybe because she kept playing it).  I'm glad she did because they're one of my favorite groups.

Nothing Like the Sun by Sting.  Do I really need to say more?  Sting rules!

Love is Stronger Than Pride by Sade.  Back when I experienced romance problems, I'd turn to this CD (although I think it was a tape at the time).  It's kind of a melancholy album, which always fit my mood perfectly.

Rowing Song by Patty Griffin.  This is the song, not the name of the CD.  I sing it to my kids to help them sleep.  It's such a lovely song, evoking great images.

I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got by Sinead O'Connor.  I listened to this CD one summer when I was a teen, while wearing my headphones and taking long walks.  I'm sure I scared many an animal when I tried to sing along.  That girl has a voice and a half!  And I don't.

Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars by Edie Brickell and New Bohemians.   I like the sensuality of this CD.  The lyrics are very evocative, as well.  It reminds me of my college days.

The Whole Story by Kate Bush.  My favorite song is Wuthering Heights.  Someone I knew--a big music lover and mentor of mine--recommended this CD to me and I loved it right away.  Unique, ethereal, great lyrics.

American IV:  The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash.  The man in black is just plain cool.

Painting by Chagall and Nobody Knows Me at All by The Weepies.  I like this whole album, but these 2 are my favorite songs.  Is it because I like Chagall and think nobody knows me at all?  Who knows!

reading, writing and arithmetic by The Sundays.  Self-indulgent, maybe.  But I like their music.

Etain by Tim Janis.  In the mood for a bit of Irish?  I find the songs on this album to be both soothing and upbeat, if that can even happen!

Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos.  Another talented singer with a haunting voice.  This is probably my favorite of her albums, although I must admit I haven't heard a lot of her new work--mostly the old stuff.

Anything by The Doors.  There is no album called, Anything.  I'm just saying that I love the Doors.

Best...1 by The Smiths.  This group is wacked, and I love them for it.

The Visit by Loreena McKennitt.  She took the words from the Lady of Shalott (a poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson) and put them to music.  Her voice is phenomenal!

October Project by October Project.  Personal favorites - Bury My Lovely and Ariel, but the whole album is great.

Greensleeves by King HenryVIII.  Don't like the man (or at least what I've heard about him; he put too many of his wives to death for me to feel good about him), but I love the ditty.
